The field of dental care has seen significant improvements in recent years. However, millions of Americans suffer from tooth loss, mostly due to various conditions such as tooth decay, gum disease or injuries. For many years, the only options for tooth loss were bridges and dentures. However today, dental implants are available. Dental implants are currently the best available solution to lost teeth.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots. They provide a strong foundation on which the crown is built to match natural teeth. Dental implants last for a long time and look very natural as well.

Advantages of dental implants

Dental implants have many advantages. When compared to other alternatives such as bridges or dentures, dental implants are a significantly better option. Some of the advantages of dental implants include:

Improved appearance: Dental implants can restore your lost smile. Dental implants look very natural and so cannot be easily distinguished from natural teeth.

Improved speech: Dental implants allow you to speak naturally without worrying about your teeth slipping. This is often the case with dentures.

Easier eating: Apart from appearance, dental implants also restore the functionality of lost teeth. They work like natural teeth and allow you to eat your favorite foods without any worry.

Better oral health: Dental implants don’t need other teeth to be ground/shaved for support. Nearby teeth are left intact which improves your long-term oral health.

Improved self-esteem: Dental implants can restore your smile and bring back your self-esteem. You can now smile confidently and be your old self.

Durability: Dental implants are very durable and last for many years. If proper care is taken, dental implants will last a lifetime.

Success rates of dental implants

The success rates of dental implants are affected by a number of factors. These include the location of the implant, the oral health of the patient, the quality of the dental implant and the expertise of the dental surgeon. In general, dental implants have a success rate of up to 98%. If proper care is taken, dental implants can last a lifetime.

Am I eligible for dental implants?

Everyone who is healthy enough to undergo a dental procedure can be considered for dental implants. Dental implants require healthy gums and sufficient bone. It is also essential to maintain proper oral hygiene. Heavy smokers, diabetics and patients who have had radiation therapy to the neck region need to be evaluated on an individual basis to determine if they are eligible for dental implants.

If you’re considering dental implants, contact your dentist for more details.

Insurance cover

As a matter of rule, dental insurance companies do not provide cover for dental implants. However, contact your dental insurance company if you are considering dental implants to check if you have any options.

Dental Implants Prices – How much to dental implants cost?

Dental implants are relatively costly when compared to other procedures such as dental bridges or dentures. There is significant variation in the price of dental implants. A number of factors determine the actual cost you have to bear for the procedure. On the average, a single tooth dental implant can cost anywhere from $2000-$4000. You may also have to pay extra for other procedures that may be required.

The procedure for placing dental implants is a two-step process. The first step involves the placement of the titanium implant into the jaw bone. It is allowed to remain for 3 to 6 months. During this period, the bone cells integrate into the implant and grow over it. This causes the implant to become firmly seated into the job one. After it has become secure, the crown is built on the top of it. The whole procedure can take several visits to the dental clinic.

Factors affecting dental implant prices

There are a number of factors which determine dental implant prices. Some of these factors include:

Patient’s physical condition

Depending on the patient’s physical condition, additional procedures may be required. For example, if there isn’t sufficient amount of bone in the patient’s jaw, a procedure for regenerating the bone maybe required. This will cost extra.

Type of dental implant

Dental implants are manufactured by several companies. Depending on the manufacturer, the price of the dental implant will vary. However, there isn’t significant variation among the prices of implants manufactured by different companies.

Imaging techniques used

Depending on the imaging technique, there will be variation in the total cost of the procedure. For example, if CT scan is used you have to pay extra when compared to conventional x-ray.

Location of the implant

If the dental implant is located in the aesthetic zone, you may have to contact an aesthetic specialist. He/she may likely charge more than the normal dentist.

Size of case

If you’re getting more number of implants done, the average cost of each implant will come down.

Complexity of the case

Complicated situations require more chair time. You may also have to consult a specialist if your case is more complicated. Depending on the complexity of your case, you may have to pay extra.

Dental implants and other procedures are costly in the US or Canada. However, they are very cheap in countries such as Mexico, India, Thailand, Poland and Hungary. Getting dental procedures done in these countries can save you significant amounts of money.

Dental implants are artificial teeth that are used to replace lost teeth. Dental implants are made from titanium alloys and are implanted into the jaw bone. The crown is built on the top of the implant. Dental implants are currently the best solution to lost teeth.

Types of dental implants

There are two types of dental implants. These are: Periosteal implants & Endosteal implants

Periosteal implants:

Periosteal implants are a kind of dental implants which are placed over the bone. They are supported by a metal framework. Periosteal implants are rarely used these days.

Endosteal implants:

Endosteal implants are the type of implants which are placed into the bone. These are more commonly used today.

Dental implant procedure – How are dental implants placed?

The procedure for placing dental implants is a multi-step process. It can take several months for the entire procedure to be completed. First, the dental surgeon will evaluate the healthy of your mouth and determine if dental implants are suitable for you. If you are suffering from any dental infections or if you don’t have sufficient amount of bone tissue in your jaws, dental implants may not be suitable for you. If dental implants are placed in such conditions, it can result in their failure.

Once it is determined that dental implants for suitable for you, the procedure will begin. The dental surgeon will first place the implant (called post) into the jaw bone by making a hole into it. It is then allowed to stay for a few months. During this period, the bone cells will grow around the implant and bind with it, making it strong and secure. This phenomenon is called osseointegration. Osseointegration makes the implant very strong. Once the post has integrated with the bone and is strong enough, the crown is built on the top of it. The crown is built in such as way that it resembles the adjacent teeth so that doesn’t stand apart. If done properly, it well appear very natural. It is not possible to distinguish between natural teeth and dental implants without careful observation.

Cost factors

Dental implants are relatively costly when compared to other options such as bridges or dentures. It can cost anywhere from $2000 to $4000 per tooth. Other procedures that may be required will cost extra.

Dental insurance companies normally don’t provide cover for dental implants. This is because dental implants are considered cosmetic procedures. However, you should contact your dental insurance company to check if they provide or not.

If you are thinking of dental implants for low costs, it is best to get the procedures performed in countries where the procedures when dental procedures are cheap. Some of the countries where dental procedures are cheap include India, Poland, Hungary and Poland. It is a good idea to contact a dental tourism agency for more information about dental implants performed in these countries. The entire procedure will cost you around 1/4th of what it normally costs in the US/Canada. There won’t be any significant variation in the quality. Dental tourism is a booming industry today because of the advantages it offers.

Dental implants are currently the best option for replacing lost teeth. If you have lost teeth due to disease or injuries, you may be aware how adversely it can affect your personality. Nobody likes a toothless smile.

Dental implants are currently the best option for replacing lost teeth. They look very natural, require very low maintenance and last for long time. However, the main disadvantage with dental implants is that they are very costly. Your dental insurance policy will most probably not provide cover for dental implants. Dental implants are considered “cosmetic procedure” and so most insurance companies will not pay for them. You will have to finance the procedure all by yourself.

Dental implants can cost several thousand dollars per tooth in the US and Canada. The cost is comparable in the UK and other developed countries. However, dental implants cost significantly less in Eastern European countries.

If you are looking for low cost dental implants, the best option is to visit countries such as India, Thailand, Mexico or Poland and get the procedures performed there. These countries are known as dental tourism countries and have many dental clinics that cater to the needs of dental tourists.

There are many advantages of getting dental implants done in India. Firstly, dental implants cost very less in India. There may be slight difference in the implant and the way procedure is performed. Indian dentists may not be “hi-tech” like those in the US but there is no difference in the overall quality of the procedure. Another advantage of India is that most people in India understand English and so you won’t have problems traveling in the country.

The main reason for the huge variation in the cost of dental implants and other procedures in India is due to low costs of living. Currency exchange is another factor. For example, 1 USD converts to approximately Rs. 50. Due to this variation, you can get dental implants and other procedures for very low costs. Dental implant manufacturers often manufacture implants locally which results in lower costs.

The best way to get dental procedures performed in India is to take the help of an agent who specializes in dental tourism. These agencies will have contacts with reliable dentists in India whom they will recommend to you. They can also provide assistance with travel, stay, etc. You can also contact dentists in India directly. Many Indian dentists maintain websites listing their specialization and contact details. All you have to call a dentist, schedule an appointment and walk in on the day of the appointment to get your procedures done. However, you should do your homework and verify the skills and qualifications of the dentist beforehand because there is still significant amount of money involved.

After you are done with your dental procedures in India, you can spend sometime there visiting its various tourist spots. India is a fascinating country offering many tourist attractions. Its rich culture and traditions are definitely worth exploring.

Dental implants are an excellent option to restore lost teeth. However, they are very costly when compared to other restorative procedures. Most often, they will not be covered by your dental insurance policies. Dental implants are considered a cosmetic procedure and so dental insurance companies do not provide cover for them. Dental implants can cost anywhere from $2000-$4000 per tooth. Depending on other factors, this price can even go higher. To put it simply, dental implants are not very affordable.

Despite the high costs, dental implants are a very good option for lost teeth. If you have lost teeth due to disease or injuries, it can adversely affect your appearance. Lost teeth can ruin any beautiful smile. Many people lose their confidence due to lost teeth. Loss of teeth can also adversely affect chewing and digestion. Dental implants completely restore lost teeth. Both in terms of functions and appearance, they are exactly same as natural teeth. Thus, they are a better option when compared to other restorative procedures such as dentures and bridges.

The best way to get dental implants without having to spend a lot of money is to get the procedure performed in countries such as India, Thailand, Mexico, Poland etc. These countries are popularly known as “dental tourism” countries. The cost of dental procedures is very low in these countries. You can expect some difference in quality but there is no significant variation.

Dental procedures are cheaper in countries such as India, Thailand, Mexico, etc. due to a number of reasons. First and foremost, the cost of living in these countries is very low. For this reason, dentists and doctors in these countries do not charge high prices. Also, there is a variation in the currency rates. For example, a dentist in India may charge Rs. 400 for consultation. While this is a respectable amount in India, it is less than eight dollars at the current conversion rate. Thus, dental procedures in these countries are very affordable. You can expect to pay anywhere from 1/4 to 1/10 of the amount you will have to pay for the same procedures in the US.

If you have decided to fly abroad for dental implants, it is best to take the help of a dental tourism agent. You can also contact a dentist in these countries directly and schedule your visit. However, this is not a good idea because there can be some hiccups. Before choosing a dentist, you should verify his/her skills and qualifications and also prior experience. You should always do your homework thoroughly because there is a lot of money involved and there are also significant risks.

Introduction to Dental Implants

A dental implant is a device made of titanium which is used to support restorations for replacing lost teeth. Almost all dental implants used today are of root-form endosseous type which means they are placed within the bone. When titanium implants are placed into the bone, the cells of the bone grow into the implant and integrate with it. This phenomenon is known as osseointegration. Dental implants fuse with the bone and so they are very stable.

Before the advent of root-form endosseous implants, dental implants were mostly of blade endosseous type. The implant placed within the bone resembled that of a flat blade. The other type of implant was the periosteal type. This type of implant was placed on the bone rather than in it. Periosteal implants are supported by metal frameworks.

Dental implants can also be used to support a number of other dental prostheses such as bridges and dentures. They can also be used as an anchorage for orthodontic tooth movement.

Normally dental implants are made of titanium with either roughened or smooth surface. The majority of dental implants are made from commercially pure titanium which is available in four grades. In the recent years, grade 5 titanium has been increasingly used to make dental implants. Grade 5 titanium offers similar osseointegration levels like pure titanium. Its main advantages are better tensile strength and fracture resistance. However, the majority of commercially available dental implants are still made from pure titanium.

The surface of the titanium implant is modified using a number of techniques such as plasma spraying, anodizing, etching and sand blasting. These techniques are employed to increase the surface areas of the implant in order to improve osseointegration levels.

Not everyone is a good candidate for dental implants. For dental implant procedures to work properly, there should be sufficient bone in the jaw and the bone should be strong enough to support the implant. If there isn’t sufficient of bone, a bone draft procedure may be needed in order to support the implant. This procedure is also known as “bone augmentation” or “bone regeneration”.

Dental implants are normally successful and last for a long time depending on how the procedure is performed, the amount of bone available and the oral health of the patient. Statistically, dental implants are successful in 75% of all cases. Dental implants can fail if osseointegration doesn’t take place properly. Dental implants are considered a failure if they are lost, become mobile or show bone loss.

Dental implants are not affected by conditions such as dental carries but a condition known as peri-implantitis may result if proper oral hygiene is not maintained or if the procedure was not performed properly. Peri-implantitis is characterized by inflammation of the mucosal and bone tissues surrounding the implant. It can result in bone loss and eventually it can lead to complete failure of the implant. This condition is usually associated with a chronic infection of the tissues surrounding the implant. It is more likely to affect heavy smokers and diabetic patients and when proper oral hygiene is not maintained.

Dental implants can cost anywhere from $2000-4000 per implant. Depending on other factors, the total cost of the procedure can be even higher. However, if the procedure is performed properly and proper aftercare is taken, they can last for a long time. They are worth the price.

Dental implants are a relatively new development in the field of dentistry. They allow you to improve the appearance of your teeth. Dental implants are an excellent option for lost teeth. They can also be used to support other teeth in the mouth. If you are considering getting dental implants, you should learn about the options available to use and take the correct decision.

A dental implant is basically an artificial version of a natural tooth. It is made of a titanium alloy which is highly resistant to corrosion. It is also very strong to withstand all the wear and tear that teeth have to undergo. Dental implants are by all means the best option for lost teeth and very advantageous when compared to other options such as dentures or bridges.

Dental implants: Information you must know

Dental implants are advantageous than other options such as bridges and dentures. Dental implants can hold on their own and do not use other teeth for support. During the procedure, nearby teeth are not ground down. This is very advantageous as it helps in maintaining oral health. Dental implants look very natural. It is very difficult to differentiate between a dental implant and a natural tooth by casually looking. In fact, you will forget completely that you are wearing an artifical implant.

There are two different types of dental implants. The type of the dental implant to be used will be determined by your dentist. The two types of dental implants are:

Endosteal implants: These are fairly common. These type of implants are screw, cylinder or blade shaped and are implanted directly into the jaw bone.

Subperiosteal implants: These type of implants are placed on the bone rather than in it. A metal framework is used to support the implant which ensures that it stays in place. Subperiosteal implants are used when there isn’t suffcient bone height.

Are dental implants appropriate for you?

If you have teeth, it can adversely affect your appearance and chewing. Dental implants are a good choice in such case. You can completely remove your concern by getting a dental implant procedure. Apart from this, dental implants are also restore normal chewing. They also look very natural.

Dental implants are very advantageous but they are not suitable for everyone. For example, dental implants are not a wise choice for people who have bad oral health. Conditions such as periodontal disease affect the bones and gums of the mounth making them unsuitable for dental implants. Dental implants are successful only when the gums and bones are healthy. Implants them on unhealthy bones and gums can lead to their failure.

If you want to get more information about dental implants, you should talk to your dentist. Your dentist will be able to inform you about the various types of dental implants and if they are a good option for you. He/she will also be able to tell you about the exact cost of the procedure. Apart from this, you can also learn about what you expect during the procedure. You can also check informational wesites and official websites of dental implant manufacturers for more information about dental implants.

Dental Implants Cost – How Much Should You Pay for Dental Implants?

There are a number of factors on which the total cost of the dental implants will depend. Dental implants can cost anywhere from $2000-4000 for a single tooth. There are many reasons why there is a variation in the price.

Dental implant surgery involves two steps. In the first step, the dental implant is placed into the jaw bone. In the second step, the crown is built over the implant. The second step is performed after 3-6 months after the implantation of the implant.

Some of the factors that determine the cost of the dental implants include:

Health condition of the patient: Factors such as age, oral hygiene and anatomy of the jaw bone determine if additional treatments may be needed. These additional treatments cost extra and so raise the total cost of the procedure.

Type of dental implants: This usually doesn’t make much difference because most dental implants irrespective of the manufacturer cost approximately the same. In other words, there is no significant variation in price between dental implants manufactured by different companies.

Imaging techniques: There are a number of imaging techniques used by dentists. The cost of the imaging technique will obviously add up to the total cost of the procedure. For example the cost of X-rays is less. On the other CT is a modern type of X-ray and so costs more.

Placement: If the teeth are located in the ‘esthetic zone’ where the will be visible to others, you will have to consult an esthetic specialist who will likely charge more money that the general dentist.

Size of case: If you are getting number of dental implants, the average cost of the dental implant will come down.

Complexity: In complicated cases, or if there are any complications during the procedure, you may have to pay extra.

There are some other factors that affect the cost of the dental implants. These may not be obvious to you. They are:

Advertisement costs: Dental implant companies often advertise their products online or offline. If the company is vehemently advertising its products, it is likely that you may have to pay more because the company has to cover the advertising costs. They can do this only by charging the customer extra.

Location of the dental clinic: Depending on the location of the dental clinic, you may have to pay extra. For example, if the dental clinic is located in a costly area such as Manhattan, you will obviously have to pay more.

Experience: As a matter of rule, dental surgeons who have more qualifications and experience will charge extra.

Dental implants are relatively costly. You should also keep in mind that your insurance may not pay for the procedure. However, dental implants are advantageous when compared to other restorative procedures and are worth the investment. If properly maintained, they will last for a long time to come without any issues. If you have decided to get dental implants, you should thoroughly research all your options and get the procedure done only after satisfying yourself that you are getting the best of the money you are investing.

Dental implants are artificial teeth that are used to replace lost teeth. Dental implants are a very good option for people who have lost teeth due to injuries, diseases, etc. and have good oral health.

Dental implants are relatively costly. However, they are much better than traditional bridges because they don’t rely on neighboring teeth for support.

Another advantage of dental implants is that they look very natural. In fact, you will completely forget that you have lost a tooth. Dental implants will help you in regaining your lost confidence and improve the way you feel about yourself, both personally and professionally. Lost can drastically alter your appearance and result in loss of confidence. You may also feel it difficult to chew food properly, in turn affecting your digestion. If you are missing one or more teeth, dental implants are definitely a good option. If proper oral hygiene is maintained, dental implants will last a lifetime without any problems.

What can dental implants do?

Dental implants can:

1. Replace one or more lost teeth without affecting neighboring teeth
2. Provide support for dental bridges and eliminate the need for partial dentures
3. Provide support for dentures and make them more comfortable

Types of dental implants

There are two types of dental implants. These are described below.

1. Endosteal implants. These include screws, cylinders and blades. Endosteal dental implants are placed into the jaw bone by surgical methods. These are the most common type of dental implants. Each implant holds one or more artificial teeth. Endosteal implants are a good alternative to dental bridges and dentures.

2. Subperiostal implants. These are placed on the top of the jaw with a metal framework supporting the prosthesis. Subperiostal implants are used to patients who cannot wear normal dentures and who have minimal bone height.

Advantages of dental implants over dentures and bridges

Dental implants are a good alternative to dentures and bridges. There are many ways in which they are better. Some of the common reasons include:

1. Esthetics: Dental implants look and feel like exactly like normal teeth. Unless carefully observed, it is very difficult to differentiate between them. They also integrate well with bone and prevent bone loss and gum recession which are commonly experience with bridges. No one will ever know that you have artificial teeth.

2. Tooth saving. Dental implants do not affect adjacent teeth like bridges do. This means that other teeth are left untouched which is very good for your oral health.

3. Reliability. Dental implants are very reliable. If proper oral hygiene is maintained after dental implant surgery, they will last a lifetime.

4. Confidence. Dental implants will help you in regaining your lost confidence. They allow you to speak and eat like before with confidence. They are also very secure and require very low maintenance.

When are dental implants suitable?

Dental implants are not suitable for all candidates. The candidate must have proper oral health. It is also required to have adequate amounts of bony tissues in the jaw. Patients suffering from periodontal disease are not good candidates for periodontal disease.
